Google Apps Resources

Classroom is a free web-based platform that integrates your Google Apps for Education account with all your Google Apps services, including Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Calendar. It’s designed to save you time and paper.

Classroom also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each class to help keep everyone organized. Teachers can attach material from their Drive folders to assignments they create. Students can also attach files from their Drive folders to coursework they submit in Classroom. Any files submitted as part of an assignment are automatically stored in Google Drive.

Students can keep track of what’s due on the assignments page and on Calendar and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom.

  • Upload a Word document and convert it to a Google document

  • Add flair and formatting to your documents by adjusting margins, spacing, fonts, and colors.

  • Invite other people to collaborate on a document with you, giving them edit, comment or view access

  • Collaborate online in real time and chat with other collaborators — right from inside the document

  • View your document's revision history and roll back to any previous version

  • Download a Google document to your desktop as a Word, OpenOffice, RTF, PDF, HTML or zip file

  • Translate a document to a different language

  • Email your documents to other people as attachments.

Google Forms is a tool that is part of Google Drive for creating surveys, tests, or web input forms.  Google forms allows anyone to create an easy to use web form, tie it to a spreadsheet where you can track results and post it on the web without having to know programming.

Responses are automatically added to a Google Spreadsheet. You can even keep a closer eye on them by adding the Google Docs Forms gadget to your iGoogle homepage or your Clemson Google Start Center. It lists your recent active forms, with new responses highlighted.

In Google Hangouts you can:

  • Send Hangouts messages: You can start a Hangout conversation with just one person or have a group chat with several people.

  • Make video calls: Have face-to-face video calls with up to 9 other people.

  • Make phone calls: Almost all calls you make to the U.S. and Canada are free, but a few destinations will cost USD 1 cent per minute depending on the specific phone number. Costs may vary depending on the local currency. Calls to destinations outside of the U.S. are at low rates, but calling isn't available to all locations.

  • Send text messages: You can send text messages using Hangouts with your Android device or your Google Voice phone number.

  • Share photos, locations, and stickers: You can share photos, stickers, and emoji in conversations. On mobile devices, you can also share your location with other people.

Gmail is a free email service provided by Google. In many ways, Gmail is like any other email service: You can send and receive emails, block spam, create an address book, and perform other basic email tasks. But it also has some more unique features that help to make it one of the most popular email services on the Web.
