Digital Learning

Here are a few of the presentations that I have created and have delivered at campuses and PLC's throughout the district. I am very proud to be a bearer of ideas and innovation for teachers so that our students have a chance to see how technology can positively impact and facilitate their ability to internalize information and understanding. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more specific information on any of these. I will be happy to furnish you with all the resources that I have.

"Connecting Your Students to an Authentic Audience" is a process that will not only transform the way they learn, but the way you teach. You will find your students participating at a level of engamement that you have never seen before. An authentic audience is learning with a purpose even if your intent is just to expand those who have access to see your students mastery of a skill or concept. The opportunity to perform in front of an authentic audience, combined with a purpose like solving a problem in the community/world, will resonate with students and evoke the passion and interest that lies dormant within them. Its up to you to awaken it!

"TransFORMative Assessment" is a presentation designed to demonstrate the new applications and options in Google Forms. Specifically, we will address options and steps to crate a dynamic assessment in "Quiz Mode".

Quiz mode will enable a teacher to save time using the automated grading feature, and data analysis features in Google Sheets.

A wonderful feature of Google Forms is the immediate feedback that is possible. Students can view their grade immediately and even revise their answers if you allow them.

"Twitter for Teachers" is a presentation to demonstrate how easy it is to register an account, and also to show how it can be used to develop and grow a professional learning network.

Twitter is a powerful resource to connect with other professionals to learn, share, and discuss ideas and resources.

Newsela makes it easy for an entire class to read the same content, but at a level that is just right for each student.

Throughout the school year, Seesaw builds an organized, digital portfolio of each student’s learning, accessible by teacher, student and parent.

Seesaw also keeps parents in the loop by giving them a real-time, personalized glimpse into their child’ s school day, via automatic iOS or Android app notifications, text message or email.

"iPad for Beginners" is a presentation that incorporates three Project Engage Outcomes: Communication, Collaboration and Creation. As a teachers you will be able to use the three apps described and engage your students like never before with your iPad.

"Google Apps for Beginners" is a presentation that I created for teachers who are just starting out. This presentation will introduce you to the power and effectiveness of Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms. If you are looking into ways to save yourself more time and easliy collaborate with others, Google Apps is the direction you should be headed.

"Google Classroom" is a presentation that I created for teachers who are interested in learning more about Google Classrooms. This presentation will walk you through the steps for setting up a classroom and also allow you to participate as a student to see what your students will see so you can build capacity in them for future participation.
